Re: Top Summer Film of 2019

I've only just recently seen John Wick - I'll put a rush on seeing part 2 since I thought it was pretty cool, almost in the Matrix family of cool. Hopefully part 2 isn't a letdown.

Re: star wars

Padme looks great. I'm sticking to ESB & OT Imperials, so she's outside my current scope, but it's a very nice figure. EpI Obi Wan & Maul looked cool as well. Archive Yoda is coming, like the Bounty Hunters did before him. If he's as dark green as he was the first time I'll pass again & ...

Re: Top Summer Film of 2019

I don't think it will be close. I hope that once the dust settles & they prepare to move ahead into the next era of films they take as much care as they have with this batch.

Re: The current state of disarray at Marvel

Ugh - I just saw Jason Aaron & Russ Dauterman are doing the first big crossover event of 2019 - I'm going to have to stay strong if I don't want to get sucked back in.

Re: What have you watched lately?

Sit on my knee, we can discuss the first thing that pops up. :( I rewatched "The Dark Crystal" yesterday & it was.... painful. I remember reading the book over & over as a kid, then finally seeing the movie. My memory held it in pretty high regard. It has not aged well. There are a...

Re: What have you watched lately?

That's on my list.

Did I mention "I Tonya"? I can't see that far back on this page. It's kinda like a mockumentary - I think they did real interviews & then hired actors to play the roles based off of those. Surprisingly engaging.

Re: star wars

I'm glad it's good & I'm glad the sales were so high - hopefully that helps people continue to want to spend resources creating awesome single player games. They feel like a dying breed.

Re: star wars

EA & Activision both have a very good money making formula & they don't stray from it. They know how to bleed the customers & employ the same tactics (pay to win, or "loot boxes" as they call them) with an over emphasis on player vs player. The days of solid, one player adventu...

Re: star wars

Yeah I'll second that. I finally got through a second viewing & was much more enthused than I was the first time. I think even I was suffering brand fatigue when it hit theaters - I saw LJ quite a few times. ><

Re: star wars

Hoth Rebel Trooper was part of the first new wave of Vintage carded figures. The second wave was Solo & included Enfys Nest which I bought because I love the character design & the card was awesome. The next wave is starting to show up with Yak Face & another skiff guard... keep your eye...

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

Looks like Tim Sale, Jim Lee & Frank Miller in that order - not sure if I'll buy more than the one I like best. There are 3 Artgerm covers, one of which is a store exclusive set in the Golden Age style - pretty awesome, but not obtainable without ebay I don't think: https://artgermcollectibles.c...

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

They were very nice. I looked at a few but stayed strong. My latest purchases were Detective 996 (997 maybe?) and whatever issue of Batman was most recent. Nearly there - the owner was asking which coverS of Detective 1000 I was planning on buying, I said just the regular & I'll have a look at t...
