Re: Superman

The more pics I see from Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie, the more I’m convinced most of the characters in the movie are gonna be basically cameos and killed off en masse in a botched mission at the beginning of the film, and the “main” team (Harley, Deadshot, etc) are called back into service to salvage...

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

Been sorting Legos the last couple weeks, so haven’t been reading as much. But I finished the BlackBolt and Panther stuff tonight. BlackBolt 7-10,12. The first six issues I don’t have had BlackBolt stuck in an intergalactic prison and being tortured repeatedly until he broke out with the help of fel...

Re: Batman Begins: The best superhero film of all time

Went to Joker today. Fantastic acting from Phoenix and a haunting score complements his performance brilliantly. I laughed a little too loud at the dumb ‘bat pole’ Easter egg. It’s not a movie that demands repeated viewings; it’s very bleak, but I’ll probably do a rewatch a year or two down the road.

Re: Big score........

The second smaller score; here’s what I got. Detective 975. Black Panther 12. Dead Man Logan 3. Fate 22. The final issue of a mid-90’s Dr Fate series. Still need most of the rest of the series. Grendel Tales:Devil’s Choices 1. Hawkman 11, 12, 16, 17. 11 more issues to go from the ‘93 series. Jack Ki...

Re: Big score........

The dealer show was on Sunday. Picked up a longbox of 343 books for the usual $110 and another 50 books for $25 at another table. Here’s what I got. Batman:Secrets 1-5. A 2006 mini from Sam Keith, whim I’m not a fan of. But now I can cross it off the list. Bloodshot 8,9,11,12. From the ‘97 series. B...

I don’t know how it would work with his estate, but if we have Stan, we should have a Kirby also. Have him come with a stool and drawing board.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

My guy’s order from Diamond had a bunch of damaged books so I didn’t get House of X, Transformers/Ghostbusters, Contagion, Marvel 1001 and a couple others. He will get replacements next week.

Re: Superman

I’m like a season and half behind on the Arrowverse. I can’t even remember how the previous seasons ends. Oliver went to prison I think. But I’m drawing a blank on Flash and Legends. I’m like 4 seasons behind on Supergirl. Haven’t even started Black Lightning yet(which isn’t even part of the Arrowve...

Re: Superman

Despite being called “Birds of Prey” this is clearly an HQ movie with minor, minor support from vaguely BoP-like characters. Cassandra Cain has been reduced to chubby Asian comedic relief. Yeah. If I hadn’t told you that was Cassandra, you wouldn’t have guessed. You still may not believe me even aft...

Re: What have you watched lately?

Hadn’t been to a movie in awhile, so we went to Ad Astra.
I was alternately laughing and getting angry at the inaccurate science throughout. And it just got more absurd as the film progressed. The plot was also mediocre.
It was cool to look at though.

Re: Football

I’m not even mad about that loss. Sure, there were a couple of shit plays/calls that would’ve changed the outcome, but the Lions hung in there all the way against arguably the number two team in the League. Everyone thought they’d be 1-3/0-4 at this point in the season.

Re: The current state of disarray at Marvel

After ESB(would they adapt that? Or make it an “Event”? They didn’t do a proper ANH adaptation when they got the license back, but I digress) they should do a proper Shadow of the Empire story line and bring that shit into the new canon.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero

How do I point out, that casting an Asian actor as Snake-Eyes defeats the point of him being an outsider brought into a rigid traditionalist clan and fostering resentment from the other clan members, without sounding racist? I’ve never seen Crazy Rich Asians and I’m sure the guy is a decent, charism...
