Re: Top Summer Film of 2019

I don't think it will be close. I hope that once the dust settles & they prepare to move ahead into the next era of films they take as much care as they have with this batch. It’s funny, because all their “flops” were towards the beginning of the series. Hulk, The first Cap, first Thor, and IM2...

Re: What have you watched lately?

The LEGO Movie 2 was a lot of fun, unsurprisingly. It was fan-fucking-tastic. I don’t understand why it underperformed at the BO. Maybe the weather? Maybe because the last “Lego” movie (Ninjago) didn’t do that well? I don’t know. It’s a crime. Polar. On Netflix. It’s based on webcomic-turned-graphi...

Re: star wars

I haven’t bought many of the SW 6” Black Series because they never have figures I would like to own. Up until now, I had Darth Vader amd K2SO. But I saw Fett, Bossk, and IG-88 in WM the other day and couldn’t pass. Half of every case sent to every store should be Stormtroopers. I’d army build the fu...

Top Summer Film of 2019

New Year! New Poll! By now you know the rules. 1. Summer only. “Summer” being subjective on my whims to find 10 suitable candidates. 2. No animation. 3. Box Office. Not aesthetics. I left both Capt Marvel movies off because Shazam was just a weeeee bit to early in the year. And I wouldn’t do one wit...

Re: The Sorting. The Fucking Sorting.

Finished the notebooks. Now on to inputting them on cbdb. I have all the DCNu52 stuff from last summer to input, as well as the older stuff I just finished. Currently at 48,565 issues cataloged. Finished the cbdb update. Currently at 56,425 books. All that’s left is 13 drawer boxes of “current” mos...

When they relaunched Uncanny at the end of last year, I didn’t realize all the other X-books stopped around the same time. A couple weeks ago, I was like “huh, I haven’t got an issue of Weapon X recently, whutupwidat?” So I looked; X-Men Red, Astonishing X-Men, Weapon X, not to mention Blue and Gold...

Re: The current state of disarray at Marvel

Marvel got the rights back to do Conan comics.

So they decided to do a Conan led Avengers team called “Savage Avengers” with Wolverine, Elektra, Punisher, etc other assorted Marvel Bad Asses on the team.
I wish I was making that up, but I’m not.

After buying Lucasfilm and Marvel, Disney should’ve set their sights on Hasbro as their next IP treasure trove.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero

They’re doing a Snake Eyes Origin movie for 2020. Now, as we all know, Snake Eyes already has the perfect origin story. So naturally, Hollywood is gonna fuck it up by ignoring the Zartan angle, adding an evil brother to Stormshadow, a rival ninja clan, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, a love triangle between N...

They finally sent the 5 original time-displaced teenage X-Men back to the past. They hung around for like six years, had like two or three ongoings to themselves over the last half decade.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

All the covers on Marvel Comics this month have a unifying theme honoring Stan Lee. No logos. Just a black bar across the top of the comics that says “Stan Lee-1922-2018” The title, issue numbers, and red Marvel Logo are innocuously situated at the bottom of the cover. The backs of the books are com...

Re: Football

Over the past couple weeks, I talked to Bears and Viking fans I know. They are really happy that the Lions have Stafford because they think he sucks. The same Bears team that had Cutler for a decade? And the Vikes are sitting on a .500 season right now, basically. Stafford sucks because he doesn’t ...
